ALHARETTA, Ga. — Crabapple Elementary student Patmon Malcom recently competed at the 2017 Junior World Championships in Pinehurst, N.C., and is now one of the Boys 10 World Champions.
Malcom, still only in fourth grade, shot 13 under par and captured the World Championship title by one stroke.
The event saw 1,500 junior golfers ages 12 and under from around the globe. Players must qualify for the event by winning their local tour event or placing in the top two in a regional golf tournament. Malcom played in the 10-year-old division and competed against 175 of the best 10-year-olds from around the globe.
In the final round he was matched against a competitor from California and one from Minnesota.
